Get Up and Running
Fast with Smartpin.
Welcome. Your dashboard is ready to customize for your Operations and assets. Log in, add your team(s), create asset groups, define new asset details, assign Smartpin trackers and unlock asset connectivity, visibility, protection and recovery in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Check Your Inbox & Login
Look for an email invite from Smartpin with your secure login link. This link will take you straight to the Ranger Connect dashboard. When prompted, create your password (Double check your email Spam or Promotions tab).
Step 2: Invite Your Team
In the My Teams menu, add/invite team members who will help manage or view assets. You can assign Admin or Read-only permissions depending on their role.
Step 3: Create Asset Groups
Groups are the backbone of Smartpin's organization system. They let you manage and scale with clarity—especially useful when tracking dozens or thousands of assets. Use Groups to:
- Separate by location.
- Organize by type or use.
- Filter and limit view access for different team members (Q4'25)
Step 4: Add Assets in Ranger Connect
Enter all new assets details into your Ranger dashboard:
- Go to New Assets Setup.
- For each asset, input: Asset name, Asset type and Group.
Pro tip
Define all your new asset details in Ranger to make things go even faster. Coming soon, we will be adding bulk upload of asset details via a CSV file template.
Step 5: Scan and Assign Trackers (Mobile App)
Download the Smartpin Connect mobile app. If you want to make Scan and Assign EVEN faster or have teams do their own, invite teammates to assist in asset set-up:

Invite a few key team members to Smartpin with admin access and quickly deploy 100s or 1000s of assets by dividing up the task of Scan and Assign across teams, regions, or operations

We are rolling out Smartpin ShareLink — a powerful new feature that lets you securely share real-time asset locations with anyone via a public, time-limited link. Whether you're coordinating with contractors, customers, or extended internal teams, ShareLink makes it simple to provide visibility without granting full platform access.
